Questions
What
exactly is a “Pinch Hitter?”
In baseball,
it’s the player who comes in for the wounded batter. Usually
the pinch hitter is a good substitute, while not being exactly
who everybody had in mind.
Event
planners and program coordinators sometimes find themselves
without a guest, at the last minute, due to some emergency.
While most speakers are prebooked months in advance, Marnie
has chosen to remain available to "pinch hit" for
your next crises by rarely pre-booking. She is typically able
to be in your studio or auditorium within twenty-four hours
of your call, or live on radio, via telephone, within minutes
of your call.
Does
Marnie ever prebook?
Technically
speaking, no. However, she accepts engagements for program
planners whose originally scheduled guest has cancelled and,
under these conditions, she does prebook up to three weeks
in advance.
How
much does she charge?
As a Pinch
Hitter, she requests that you cover all travel expenses. She
then accepts the fee originally agreed upon by the cancelling
guest, whether pro bona, five digit or anywhere in between.
If travel expenses were included in the original agreement,
simply retain that wording. [Note: A confirmation agreement
must be submitted prior to Marnie's departure. Here....]

What
is "Dealing with Disappointment?
While all
of Marnie's engagements surround the scenario of a missing-in-action
guest, most do not create an atmosphere of extreme disappointment
for anyone except the event/program coordinators and team.
Dealing with Disappointment is Marnie's
keynote address for groups whose hopes of hearing a specific
guest have been dashed, due to a last minute cancellation.
What she lacks in audience anticipation, she overcomes using
humor, visuals and personal stories.
What
topics does Marnie speak on?
Marnie
speaks on YOUR topic – whatever
it is. If you need a motivating, encouraging, impromptu speaker,
call Marnie. Marnie’s speaking experience resembles
her life – varied, interesting and somewhat unexpected.
As a pinch hitter, speeches fall into a wide range of categories.
Here is a sampling of themes within which she has worked:
Service with a Smile, Raising Responsible Adults, Writing
for Publication, Entertaining on a Shoestring, Pamper Yourself,
Faith - Golden Key to God's Riches, The Love You've Been Dreamin'
Of....
Marnie synergizes her material with your theme by pulling
humor, illustrations, personal anecdotes and paradigm-shifting
content from one of the following general topic categories:
Life
& Time Management
Personality Power Managing To Succeed
Parenting with a Purpose
Beauty from the Inside Out
Creating Joy
The Friendship Factor
Gaining Spiritual Depth
Dealing with Disappointment

How
can I get coaching from Marnie?
Marnie
is no longer able to provide personal coaching. However, we
encourage you to join her upcoming teleconference (details
here) and to take advantage of her advice in print,
available through her many published works.
Can
I schedule a live Time Management Seminar?
That depends.
If you have been contacted by our office, inviting you to
host a seminar on a certain day at a certain time, then please
fill out the confirmation agreement HERE
and call us a.s.a.p. to confirm.
If you have not been contacted by us, there is no way to pre-book
a seminar at this time.
Marnie
fits these seminars into other trips whenever possible. In
other words, when she needs to travel for non-speaking-related
business or pleasure, and sees a few open hours, our staff
contacts churches in that area to see if one can host a seminar.
In this way, Marnie remains available as a Pinch Hit Speaker
as often as possible, while still teaching seminars during
otherwise "unavailable" times.
