Clubs = Adventure!
I
had the honor of directing the Amah-El Club for 10 years.
Dozens of clubbers came and went, most of whom are now high
school or college graduates and many are married with children
of their own.
Girls
club was great fun, slightly demanding and always full of
surprises. Along the way it provided a unique training ground.
In the process of making hundreds of meals-of-encouragement,
one at a time, the members of Amah-El learned how to cook,
to work in teams, to clean-up their own messes, and how
to smile and cope when the pressure was on and everything
was going wrong.
And things did go wrong!
There was the day when not one, but two entire recipes ended
up on the floor—upside down! Another day ¼
cup, instead of ¼ teaspoon, of salt was added to
the main dish. Yet another hilarious disaster presented
itself when a teen added 2 cups of brown sugar instead of
2 cups of rice to a casserole. Go figure!
With this book, and your own energy, ideas and investment,
you will be in a position to touch young lives by hosting
the precise number of events that your time, finances and
motivation allow. Even one session would be valuable, but
maybe you could do one per quarter, one per month, or, like
us, one or more per week.
Whatever your idea, even if your main goal is to spend some
quality time in the kitchen with your own children preparing
meals for others, just run with it!
By
the way, while the Amah-El Club was created specifically
for girls, the concepts were equally useful when I ran a
six-week cooking course for boys. The plans, menus and tips
in this eBook have also been successfully taught in home
economics and teen-parent classes.
The
cost of the eBook is $16.95.

This
150 page eBook was written in response to the many who
have asked me for details during the past decade: missionaries,
pastor's wives, church planters, parents, teachers, girl
scout leaders, youth pastors and others.
It
is the book I wish I would have had when I started my
own club in 1992. Unfortunately, when you are busy doing
this type of thing, you don't usually have time to write
about it. This eBook, for example, was in progress for
years, but I didn't finish it until two years after the
final Amah-El club session. Thanks to all of you who have
been ever-so-patient!
