| INTERLUDE HISTORY. 2000. During an 8-month period, there were 4 non-drug/alcohol related deaths of Christian young people in our community of 1600 people. Following this, my heart was often full of the thoughts of those losses and life's lasting meaning. I began to talk to the children much about heaven and life-that-lasts-forever. The interlude to this song came out of those months of grieving and growing. MAIN SONG HISTORY. 2004. On Wednesday, June 30th, I returned home from a trip to find a virus in my email bin. We lost all 1,800 messages (not knowing who all had been blown away!). On Tuesday, July 6, 2004, my husband, Dave, resigned from his job as Human Resource Manager at a large manufacturing firm. It was a decision I knew about and was delighted with, but it was a big change for all of us. On July 7th I received my "authors copies" of my new book, Marnie's Scavenger Hunt Handbook. A good thing - that required much action. On July 8, 2004, the web designers finished the 5 month-long project for the new web site for the Christian Women's Speakers Directory. I began the daunting task of contacting and transferring the data of nearly 1,000 speakers, with the Grand Re-Opening scheduled for July 26th. Needless to say, the "circumstances I saw" were somewhat overwhelming! I'd been humming the tune for this song for weeks and on the heels of these events, the words flooded into my overwhelmed brain. Just a few nights before, I had fallen into bed exhausted, confused, and sighing upwards, "It's all out of control!" The immediate response from the Holy of Holies in my heart was this, "What? Marnie, tell Me what is out of control." I just laughed out loud! Of course! From God's perspective things were progressing just perfectly. It is so comforting to know that God always cares and He is never, never out of control. While it may feel like it at times, our feelings are not our reality, God is. Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow!
