No Time to Write a Full Length Autobiography?
HERE ARE
4 EASY STEPS TO WRITING YOUR SHARED MEMOIRS

1. YOU. Grab a pen, a minute, a memory and you're on your way to writing your own memoir. There are 125 one-minute memory joggers in this journal; complete it in one sitting or one minute at a time.

2. THE FAMILY. Demonstrate your desire for your spouse and kids to get involved by bringing the journal to a family meal. Ask a question and write down everyone's answers for them. Encourage them to add more themselves, as often as they can.

3. FRIENDS & EXTENDED FAMILY. At your next celebration, family gathering or group party, pass the journal around, inviting each guest to complete one or two questions. Then enjoy an after-glow party, reading all the new entries.

4. SPECIAL GUESTS. Entertaining foreign exchange students? Sharing lunch with a famous friend? Hosting missionairies in your home? Leave this book out and encourage them to fill in a few for you -- in the minutes they have!

From the introduction...

I envision this book sitting in a convenient location, grabbed, like a Sudoku puzzle, when people have a few unstructured minutes to spare. At other times, you may prefer to use the questions as talk triggers, sharing around the dinner table or living room conversation circle.

It takes 30-60 seconds to write in the answer to each question. Thus you can do it all in one sitting or answer a question a day to keep the boredom away. It's really that easy!

As you model pro-active journaling, others will follow suit. The fun comes as more and more family members and guests add their own entries, increasing both the entertainment and historical value of the shared memoir.

In the end, this journal will chronicle the thoughts of a dozen or more individuals.... As you fill in the blanks yourself, or read the comments of others, I hope you can envision family members, in future generations, happening upon this little book. I mean, wouldn't you find it interesting to read the personal thoughts of a dozen of your ancestors... on memory at a time?

"Yesterday I had some company over - friends I know very well. The evening started at 3pm, so after dinner... I took out Minute Memoirs. Individually and as a group we answered several questions. Our favorite was 'What instrument are you?' Very tough and thought provoking and provided some fun insights... a non-offensive way to get the topic back onto funner ground. Thank you, Marnie, for another great book!" Marcia Mehlhaff
