M & K Takeouts: Marnie is the owner and manager of this local restaurant.

There are a few circumstances in which Marnie does live seminars [details here], but for the most part (due to her home schooling, website management and restaurant responsibilities) she can't come to you. So why not host a CD Seminar!? The Time, Life and Relationship Management CD Seminar takes two and one half hours, including workbook time, plus about 15 minutes on either end to welcome and release your guests. It's easy to run, very effective and lots of fun.

Unlike a live or video conference, during this CD seminar you will only hear music and Marnie's voice as she shares with you her life-changing time management concepts.

Funding
the
Seminar

If your group does not have a "book budget", consider charging each woman for her participation. Most guests are more than willing to pay $10 for the event (in which case you can take advantage of our interactive promo maker).
Promoting
the
Seminar

You will find a sample press release HERE. If you choose the $10 per person funding option, feel free to use the interactive bulletin insert- and poster-maker found HERE. (These were designed for use with Marnie's live seminars, but if you use the 4th line of the text box to indicate that the event is a "CD Seminar", people will know what to expect.) Finally, be sure to contact Laurie to request that she schedule Marnie to do a day-before or day-of radio interview (by phone) with your local Christian radio station. CLICK HERE.

Audio Needs Take the time, ahead of time, to set up and test the sound system in the room where you will host your event. In addition, during the introduction section of the CD, ask for feedback from your guests regarding their ability to hear. You may even need to move a few people to different positions if sound pockets prevent them from hearing well. Since this is an non-visual program, if they cannot hear well, all is lost.
Room Layout The best format for such an event is to seat your guests around tables (or a dining room table in a home, for a very small group) so they can easily write directly into their workbooks as the event proceeds.
Table Decorations Your table centerpiece(s) could be a simple arrangement of clocks and/or memorable time pieces (like pocket watches) and an open Bible placed atop a matching table runner or slightly bunched-up fabric pieces that coordinate with the workbook cover.
Refreshments Set each table with a carafe of coffee and a pitcher of water, plus refreshments. Something that is easy, color coordinated and delicious is a large circular platter with a center bowl of marshmallow dip surrounded by fresh strawberries on one side and knotted pretzels on the other. Don't forget to set out disposable cups, 7" plates and napkins.
Bonus If you order 10 or more workbooks, we will include two free "It's My Honor" CDs for you to give away as door prizes. [Order here...]

In addition to the following texts, Marnie has also written hundreds of articles for newspapers, newsletters
and websites on
most topics related to home,
family, entertaining & faith.

TIPS & STRATEGIES FOR A SUCCESSFUL CD SEMINAR:

During the welcome time, be sure everyone has a workbook and pencil. Also let the ladies know that there will not be enough time for them to write down everything that comes to mind in each segment. Encourage them to… "do the best you can in the time you are given and then continue at home."

You will notice that we have budgeted time for one stretch break and one restroom break, as the gals will become restless and overwhelmed if not given a few "breathers" during the event. The first break falls after the completion of Track 8 (your first timed workbook section) and the next after Track 11, when the women may find themselves a bit mentally worn out.

During that first break, have them all stand in one big circle and give each other back rubs for about 90 seconds - 45 seconds to their right and 45 to their left. Next, have them stretch as high as they can - on their toes. Have them sit down as you draw the name of the 1st CD winner. Immediately upon announcing the winner, start Track 9.

FYI: As you run the CD program, most segments are clearly defined by a track break. Exceptions to this are Tracks 8 and 13. These tracks require you to pause the CD at points during the track in order to provide workbook time. The timing chart above indicates how to handle those two tracks.

We will include two free "It's My Honor" CDs* for your to give away as door prizes, one during the stretch break and the other at the conclusion of the program. *with orders of 10 or more workbooks

There are feedback forms/order blanks in each workbook. If you would be so kind to forward any comments and/or orders to us, we would greatly appreciate it.

During the closing moments, encourage the women to fill out their feedback forms and then, with four minutes to go, encourage each table to spend the final few minutes in "popcorn praise". Describe it this way, "Think about this unspoken phrase as you pray: "God, I praise You that You are… and then fill in the blank with very brief, one to two word phrases. Praise as if you were kernels of popcorn exploding quickly toward heaven. There is not time here for sentence prayers, so please use just one to two word phrases which describe some quality or characteristic of God for which you are personally grateful. Go ahead and start now. I'll say 'Amen' when it's time to quit."

As the ladies praise God, get ready to draw the name of the final CD winner. At the closing moment, say, "AMEN! We are so glad you were here and, on your way out, would (reach your hand in and draw out a name) _____________ stop up here to get your free CD? Thank you ladies! Have a great (night, day.)!"

*Participants will feel disappointed if they are given either too little or too much time during which to fill in the blanks. The above schedule provides ample time. They also need to be let out on time: It is a time management seminar, after all. Finally, if you don't give them a stretch and bathroom break they will get restless. As you can see, keeping the event moving along, according to schedule, will be your number one priority for the evening.

Thank you for hosting this event!
